The road of life

The road of life

As school reopens for a new academic session, one of our brothers, in a soothing, poetic tone, admonishes the students, especially the newbies.

Relax and enjoy the piece, as every line arouses your adrenaline!

#The Road of life#

“Inner satisfaction
dwindles in sharp
blades of expectations
From now on the world has you”—Lenrie peters

  Better not be too glad about the tide,
   For your feet may slip when you glide.

    To your soul, all is well, my dear,
       but the road is slippery; lend me your ears!

 Stubborn are the roots of cactuses;
    the stairs to hell are wrapped in the banister of fantasies.

 Feet-sweeping are the tragic storms of life;
  tightening are the chores of bees in the hive.

    This journey is too long and unclear.
            It’s full of throngs; thus, my fear!

    Yearn for what yields to your lust;
           lest be lost in your worst.

Why not hold unto these flowers in all your days?
        Their fragrances would bloom and mend your ways,

delivering the pangs that shrink your swinks,
          and bliss your hope before it sinks.
