The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Obafemi Awolowo University branch, extends heartfelt congratulations to Muslim graduands among the newly inducted medical and dental doctors at the College of Health Sciences induction ceremony held on Monday, 18th May 2026 at Oduduwa Hall.
The College of Health Sciences, Obafemi Awolowo University, on Monday, 18th May, inducted 125 graduating medical students and 32 graduating dental students at Oduduwa Hall.
The ceremony featured oath-taking, welcome addresses, words of encouragement and award presentations, with the presence of the Vice Chancellor, College Provost, representatives of MDCAN and MWAN, the Vice Chancellor of Kings University alongside other medical professionals.
In her address, the Provost, Professor Bernice O. Adegbehingbe, described the set as exceptional and revealed that sixteen doctors graduated with honours, while reminding the inductees that the medical profession is a sacred calling rooted in compassion, discipline, and service to humanity.
Among the inductees were 23 Muslim students, further reaffirming that Islam is not a limitation to excellence, but a guiding force for discipline, perseverance, and purpose.
In recognition of outstanding academic excellence, Dr. Bolu Akindele and Dr. Akande Ibukunoluwa emerged as the best graduating students in Medicine and Dentistry respectively, and were honoured with awards by the University and MWAN.
